I'm Leanne Woodfull, 27 years young and from the vibrant city of Dublin. I started Thunder and Threads in October 2009, as a fashion-obsessed secondary school student. I was an avid magazine reader and stumbled upon an article discussing an upcoming new phenomenon: blogging. I threw myself into what was then an after-school outlet for me to discuss my love for fashion and makeup.

Over the course of two-three years, I gained a loyal readership and following on my social media platforms. 2012 was the year when things really kicked off however, as brands started to get in touch with me for collaborations and I was nominated for my first ever award.

Thunder and Threads has grown and grown since, alongside my several social media platforms. Winning Company Magazine's 'Best International Blogger' award in 2014 was a milestone, as it was then I took the leap to leave my retail job and jump into blogging full-time.

I've recently completed a BA degree in 'Visual Culture' at the National College of Art and Design. My focus areas included fashion history, contemporary art, feminism, social media activism and art philosophies. The education and skills I gained from my degree are invaluable and will no doubt further improve this blog as the years go on.

Additional related experience also includes a degree in Fashion Styling from the LA College of Creative Arts (2014), a Pro Artistry Makeup Diploma from Make Up For Ever (2011), work placement in Newbridge Silverware's Museum of Style Icons (2016), interning at various PR companies (Thinkhouse, Hunter Communications) and working as a sales assistant in Urban Outfitters (Dublin and central London).
