Clarins Rouge Eclat Spring Collection | Review

Clarins, oh Clarins, my sweet Clarins. My favourite brand of 2012 yet again has launched a magnificent collection for the coming season; Rouge Eclat is Clarins' new collection for Spring, inspired by the Iris flower and upcoming trends. It features a Face & Blush Powder, Mineral Loose Powder, Eye Quartet Mineral Palette, Jolie Rouge Brilliant Lipstick and Gloss Prodige. These products are currently on sale, so run to your nearest Clarins counter and have a mooch - as I know you guys, as well as I, will love these!
Clarins' Eye Quartet Palette (€40) is beautiful for this season. I fell head over heels in love with their palette from the Odyssey Christmas collection last year, so I'm hoping I'll get just as much use out of this one! The palette includes a deep plum, green-black, warm bronzy-brown and a sheer white highlight. The shades are all gorgeous - not my usual shade choices or Spring colours - which I like! It's nice to see some deeper colours featured in a Spring palette, instead of the usual pastels and pinks. You can use the shadows wet or dry, and they all have fantastic pigmentation either way. The highlight and deep plum are my favourites, and are the shades I've been using the most since receiving the palette.
I always adore the limited edition Face & Blush Powders (€37) that come out with Clarins' collections; they're always so pretty to look at and versatile! The palette* from this collection features three shades - a light-medium brown, peach and babydoll pink. You can use these shades swiped altogether for an overall glow to your face or concentrate your brush on one area in particular for a blush/ contour powder. I use this predominantly as a blush or contour powder, as it's a tad too dark to use all over my face. The Light-Optimizing+ Complex in the powder reduces the appearance of wrinkles and imperfections, so it'd be ideal to use if you have mature skin.
The Mineral Loose Powder* (€38) is one of my favourite new products from Clarins, I have been using it daily since I received it! I received the lightest shade - 01 Light and it matches my skin perfectly. Clarins' foundations are miles too dark for me, yet this powder matches my skin tone (it's on the pink side too, which is ideal for my complexion). I wish they produced a foundation in a shade as light as this! The compact for the powder is massive, so it's not ideal for travel. I use this at home when I'm setting my makeup, and it applies beautifully on to the skin. It's lightly fragranced, mattifies the skin and it lasts quite a while once applied. The skin never looks dull or cakey with this powder on, regardless of how much you apply - it still gives you a radiant glow. €38 might seem pricey for a powder, but the tub is massive! I predict it will last me ages.
Clarins' new Jolie Rouge Brilliant Lipsticks (€20) are a product I'm so excited about using for Spring! I received the Sweet Plum* (18) shade, which I'm thrilled about. The consistency of these lipsticks is amazing - they're slightly sheer, so you can add as little or as much as you want on to the lipsticks for your desired look. When wearing the lipstick, your lips feel so nourished that it feels like you're wearing a lipbalm! The colour is stunning, and goes well with most makeup looks.  One critique I have to make about the lipstick however, is the packaging; I prefer when Clarins use their chic gold packaging - the silver looks slightly out of place for the brand!
I also received the new Gloss Prodige (€17.50) in Vibrant Rose* (10). I know a heap of people will adore this gloss, as the bubblegum-pink shade is really gorgeous and looks well on most complexions. There's just enough shimmer in it too, to add a touch of sparkle! I personally don't like lipgloss, but this one doesn't feel as gloopy or sticky as most do to me. The scent is my favourite thing about the product - it smells like Blackcurrant Soothers.

Have you tried any of this collection yet? Do you plan to buy something?
