Aloha! I hope everyone is enjoying the Christmas holidays, I've had a nice few days apart from being ill (along with half of Ireland). As you've probably noticed, my blog has a had re-vamp! For 2013, I wanted Thunder & Threads to undergo a makeover; an amazing graphic designer I know, Fatti Burke, jazzed up my blog for me. I love it; it's very me, yet simple and easy to navigate. There's still a few things to do here and there, but it'll all be up and running 100% in the first week of 2013.
A blog reader was recently talking to me about my beloved Collection 2000 'Lasting Perfection' Concealer; I've been raving about it for 2 years now, discussing it on here and on my Youtube channel. However, I still haven't posted a full review of it - madness! Collection 2000 (or, Collection, as they're now calling themselves) are a brand that was quite new to me last year. I'd heard about this concealer through the blogosphere, and needed to try it asap. Needless to say, I tried it once and never went back! I'm currently on my tenth/ eleventh tube, and own at least 2-3 tubes at the one time. It's the greatest concealer I've ever used - even compared to M.A.C, Clinque etc. It's around €6 usually in Boots, but at the moment it's on offer for around a fiver. For the teeny-tiny price it is, the product is unbelievable.
My skin isn't bad, but it's certainly not in any way good. It goes through phases, and is quite reactive. I could be having the worst skin day in existence, with a million blemishes and redness - this concealer covers absolutely EVERYTHING and creates a flawless finish, regardless of how bad your skin's condition may be. I constantly get comments like "Your skin is flawless!" on photos and videos, and it totally isnt.. it's just this concealer! It's quite thick, which I personally like. It's creamy and easy to blend. I use a light swab of it under my eyes to hide dark circles and I pat it on to blemishes individually. I have combination-oily skin, and I find that it doesn't budge throughout the day at all. If I can't find a tube of it whilst doing my makeup, I end up having a slight panic attack as it's one of my ultimate staple products.
I have everyone I know using it, and I persuaded my cousin to buy it for the first time yesterday. For the price it is, definitely give it a go. It comes in three shades, as far as I know - I use Shade 1 (Fair). I'm extremely pale, but this shade blends really well into my foundation and skin. It looks quite yellowy and a tad dark when swatched initially, but it looks fantastic when applied on to the skin properly. The only con to this concealer, is the writing on the packaging - it rubs off within a few days and makes the tube look grubby. People have been complaining about it for years, so I'm surprised the brand haven't fixed it yet. It's not too big a deal, and it doesn't affect the product inside at all, obviously. If you haven't tried it yet, give it a go! Trust me, you won't look back.
Have you tried this concealer? What's your favourite concealer to use?
