Hello guys! I wore this striped ensemble out last night, to my Dad's 40th birthday party! I bought the dress off of Asos a few weeks back, and it was on my wishlist for months and months previous to that. I absolutely adore it, it's so retro and interchangeable. Yes, vertical striped pieces have been over-done to death this year, but I find dresses and leggings are still quite easy to work with and simple to make your own.
This dress is by a fantastic company called Motel, and they have a huge selection of striped pieces on their website. It was the first ever piece I've bought from them, and I'm thrilled with it! I wore oversized hoop earrings, that I snatched up for a fabulous €4.50 in the Topshop sale. They add quite an Edie Sedgwick 60s vibe to the whole outfit. I also wore opaque black tights, again for the retro 60s vibe. Opaque black tights are so slimming for the legs, and are incredibly chic and versatile to wear.
I've been getting some stick on my video below for deciding to wear a bra with the dress - I wore one because I'm quite flat chested and strapless bras never work for me. They always end up getting hooshed up every five minutes! Most nude bras don't match my skintone either, and I think clear bra straps look quite tacky. I opted for my push-up white bra, as it suited the dress best and I don't think it's even that obvious. Just saying!
