Earlier this week, I attended my Uncle's fabulous wedding in Cabra Castle. My Uncle was marrying a fabulous girl, who's been part of our family for nearly 7 years; it was a magical few days for everyone and the glorious weather was really the icing on the cake! I took a ton of snaps on my phone for you all, so I hope you like this huuuge collage I've put together showing you the three days I spent at the castle.
Cabra Castle is situated in Cavan, and it has to be one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. It's one of the most haunted places in Ireland also, and I actually posted about the ghosts two years ago when I had visited previously. However, my cousin and I didn't see anything too spooky, except we heard some strange tappings around our room on the first night - pity!
The wedding itself was just brilliant. The ceremony in the church was stunning, and the Portlaoise Gospel Choir performed for all of us - I felt like I was in Sister Act, it was great! Unfortunately, I got no proper photos of my Aunties dress as I was so caught up in the hustle and bustle. She wore a princess style dress, decorated with lace. It was made by her extremely talented friend, and she looked like an absolute angel in it. The reception was beyond fun, the food was delicious, there were pic'n'mix stands, a chocolate fountain and my Aunty even organised baskets of toiletries and flip flops (for when your heels got too painful) to be placed in the ladies toilets - I thought it was such a cute touch.
I was devastated to be leaving on the Friday, as I was in my element surrounded by history in this wonderful place. I'd highly recommend visiting the castle, and I know for a fact I'll be back again!
