Pixie Stixx Handmade Jewellery!

The lovely Katy from Pixie Stixx handmade jewellery, sent me out a gorgeous little cupcake necklace charm for me to try out recently! I'm a huge handmade jewellery fan, and I especially love Pixie Stixx jewellery as they remind me of Japanese Harajuku designs!
Pixie Stixx is a handmade jewellery company run by a mother and daughter from the UK. They create everything from necklace charms, to earrings to hair slides! Each item is unique, and no two are the same - which I find pretty cool! All items are reasonably priced and the designs are gorgeous as you can see! Cute cupcakes, yummy cookies and stunning florals - there's wide range to choose from and everything is ultra feminine and pretty.
I absolutely love the cupcake charm - it has lilac icing, a cute little flower on top and two dainty wafers sticking out of it. The attention to detail is really, really superb and the Pixie Stixx girls are truely talented with it! I'm delighted with my wee cupcake and I'm definitely interested in purchasing more items from the store soon. I love anything unique and edgy, and these are the type of pieces that make people ask you where you got it!

Glossy Box - August 2011

I'm sure all of you beauty nerds have heard of the UK's beloved Glossy Box? Over the past few months, I've watched youtube videos and read blog posts, of British beauty junkie's raving over the new Glossy Boxes! Until now, they weren't available to Ireland - but that has changed (insert 'YAY!' here!)
If you're unfamiliar with the Glossy Boxes, they're basically a box full of 5 luxury beauty goodies that you receive each month. You subscribe to the Glossy Boxes, through their website for only £10 a month! The Glossy Box includes your products, information and instructions and also gorgeous packaging! What's not to love?!
I received my Glossy Box this morning, and all of my opinions here are my first impressions. You all know I like to wait a while before I review products fully, so if there's anything you'd like me to review in more detail in the future - let me know!
I'm a total packaging nerd as well, if I say so myself. I 'ooh' and 'aah' over boxes, wrapping paper, gift bags, ribbons etc before I even get to the item inside! The actual Glossy Box is adorable! Pretty and pink, and perfect for storage (it's an ideal size to store nail polishes!) The products inside were wrapped up in tissue paper, with a ribbon and it just looked oh-so fancy and chic! Along with my Glossy Box, I received a lovely letter from the Glossy Box team. Let's just say, it was a fabulous way to start my day - unintentional rhyming ftw!
This month's theme was 'Wash and Glow!', all of the basics you need for beauty to look your best! Think no make-up, low maintenance Parisian women - gorgeous!
My Glossy Box contents - how exciting!
A full list of the products and information was included!
Rebel Nails - Nail Wraps:
I've been dying to try nail wraps for ages now, so I was delighted to see these! Surprisingly enough, these ones are for your toes - something I have not heard of before! I love the design on the wraps and I'll be using them soon for sure!
Daniel Sandler - JUMBO JET Mascara:
You all know I'm a mascara fiend, I want to own each and every one in existence and I love trying out new ones, so of course I was over the moon to see this. I love the mascara brush, it's big and thick. I tried it out once I got it (excuse the creepy pics below!) and it made my eyelashes more volumised and black at once, as you can see! Deee-lighted with this product. It's also a brand name I've never heard of before, so I'll definitely be looking Daniel Sandler up!
Before and after the mascara!
KMS Calinfornia - Colovitality Shine & Shield:
This is my favourite product from my Glossy Box, this smoothing creme is just delish! I used it straight away on my tower-dried hair and it smoothed it out immediately and made it smell yummy! It includes UV protection, fights frizz and provides heat protection, so it cares for your hair all over! It's a great all-in-one product, and the 150ml bottle is absolutely fantastic to receive!
Murad - Time Release Blemish Cleanser:
I'm really excited to use this cleanser, as it's extra-gentle on the skin and it has been proven to reduce blemishes. I love the smell of it and the sample size I received is very generous!
AHAVA - Mineral Body Lotion:
I'm really delighted about this body lotion, it smells like heaven and absorbs super fast into my skin! I'm really loving the size of the bottle the most though (40ml), it's handbag friendly and I'll be popping this in mine and using it as a hand lotion for sure!

Overall, I just adore the Glossy Boxes! The whole concept is so clever and to try one myself was brilliant! I loved my Glossy Box so much, that I'm planning on subscribing this weekend! They're such a bargain at only £10, and it's brilliant being able to try not so well-known brands that are out there. All of the products in this month's box, were gorgeous and I'm delighted with each of them!

Best In Beaut.ie Awards, In Association With West Coast Cooler!

Yesterday evening, I attended the glamorous Best In Beat.ie awards, with my best friend Emma! Beaut.ie is Ireland's biggest and best beauty blog if you don't know, that the gorgeous Kirstie and Aisling McDermott run! Over the last few weeks, readers have voted on their favourite beauty products - everything from hair, to makeup to skin! Nearly 70,000 (wow!) votes were cast overall, and yesterday the winners were announced at the beautiful Dylan Hotel in Ballsbridge.
It was brilliant to see some familiar faces and to meet other Irish beauty bloggers over a nice glass of some West Coast Cooler. I tried all of the 3 flavours by the way - Original, Rosé and the newest addition Citra - I personally loved Rosé the best and I had a good few glasses of it! The finger food was delicious also and oh-so posh! I nearly died trying one of the brownies - yum x100!
Nabbed this photo off of Beaut.ie's Facebook page!
Dee and Sinéad from Viva Adonis, myself and Emma, all enjoying some West Coast Cooler.
The stunning Karen Koster from TV3's Xpose was there and made the first speech of the night. There were 48 categories of awards, so to save all of us gals in our killer heels from standing around for 48 announcements, the winners were put on a screen and a sheet was handed out to us with a list of the winners! I voted for my favourite beauty products of course, and I was delighted to see some of my faves had won. For a full list of the winners click here, and do to tell me what you think! There was a great mixture of drugstore and high-end brands and unsurprisingly M.A.C came out as Ireland's favourite  beauty brand overall!
The goodie bags we each received at the end of the night were delightful, to say the least! Each contained 3 bottles of West Coast Cooler, Kiehl's skincare samples, a No.7 mascara, a Rimmel lipgloss and a Sally Hansen nail polish. How amazing is that!?
A nice meal in Eddie Rockets ended the night well and I sighed with relief taking off my 6 inch heels! Totally worth it though.. thanks Kirstie and Aisling!
(Catch Aisling from Beaut.ie talk to Karen on tonight's Xposé show on TV3, at 6:30pm!)

New.

I'm going to be completely honest with you all, over the past few weeks I've lost complete interest in youtubing and blogging. I've been stuck in some sort of rut in July, where I've lost interest in everything and anything. I've become bored of myself, my interests, my peers, my social life. I'm just plain and simple, bored.
I've come up with so many plans for this blog and my youtube channel, and none of them have really come into full force yet. I didn't feel ready to put any of my ideas into action yet, as I'm just not happy with 'me' at this very moment. My confidence has plummeted dreadfully over the last year, due to a mixture of things and I've just become sick of it. I want to get that confidence back. I'm not saying I want to dramatically change, but I've just lost interest in myself. That loss of interest has spread through to this blog and my youtube, and through to everything and I'm stuck at some sort of a dead end.
I'm determined to change that, I want a 'Woodfull Renaissance'. I'm ready to express myself more and be more creative with myself. I'm talking about everything to do with me - the way I dress, the way I blog/youtube, where I go.. I believe I'm capable of much more!
The college knock-back in March, really messed things up for me. It really halted my creative drive and made me doubt myself and doubt my passions in life. It's taken me a good 5 months to realise that everything happens for a reason and that I am capable of achieving my dreams.
I don't know whether it's the sound of the rain outside or the boredom of being sick, that spruces up new enthusiasm within me. Every so often I get this spontaneous feeling of rejuvenation and it always occurs when I'm housebound. Currently, I'm dying of strep throat and every other flu symptom in existence. It's absolutely lashing rain outside, and I just laugh repeatedly at Ireland's ''Summer''.  I'm sitting here in my old dressing-gown, sipping Lemsip, and thinking of the 'new' me. I want to delete every inch of negativity that surrounds me once and for all and just concentrate on the good. I want to fully express myself and my creativity more, I want to hold on to my true friends and meet some new ones, and I also want to just have fun.
Expect Thunder + Threads to become something new, something different. I can't put a date as to when this 'change' will happen, but it will. It will take time for me to give it all a go, and I know you all will be delighted to hear it. As I've previously stated, I'm not talking about some huge change, I won't be wearing fake tan anytime soon..
Anyways, thanks to everyone who's supported me over the past 2 years (yes, this blog is 2 years old!). To anyone who reads this, watches my videos, follows me on Twitter.. whatever! Thanks to everyone, xo
